Mudcat has so many easterners, it's no surprise it has been silent about the Kansas City Royals (that long-despised team) winning the world series (baseball championship) just now. They defeated the New York Mets.

These teams were so closely matched that one game went on five extra innings, finally ending at 1 am the next day. The DH and I didn't actually watch the games, but we knew what has happening because we could hear the cheers and the moans from all over the neighborhood, coming right through the walls.

The mayor of Kansas City and the mayor of New York had made a bet that the loser would have to sing a song accompanied by ballet dancers. Here's the mayor of New York paying up:
