Thread Name: Origins: seeking the author of The Celtic Gods
Subject: Origins: seeking the author of The Celtic Gods
Hello, folks! I am a newbie here and am hoping someone may be able to help me in my search for the name of the author of a poem called The Celtic Gods, the words are below. I want to incorporate them into a song, but don't want to cross any Intellectual Property without a correct tip o'the cap. I believe Tommy Makem recited it, but don't think he wrote it. I do look forward to hearing from someone, hopefully, and greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

Cheers,
Mark

The Celtic Gods

The Celtic Gods of sun and water
Set a river flowing of music
And poetry and wisdom past all knowing
The bards and druids drank their fill
The brigand sons and daughters
The Fee lie too, refreshed their souls
From these sweet misty waters

Then time grew old and times grew dark
The river seemed forsaken
A chosen few would now partake
Where many had partaken

And then other races found
Our forbear's wisdom well worth the learning
Our ancient songs and poetry
Touched hearts forever yearning

And now aeons past, on distant shores
Far from the holey mountain
The sons of sons refound the source
And built a flowing fountain
Of music and poetry and wisdom
From these sweet mystic waters
To sooth the parched and the weary souls
Of all our sons and daughters
