I am very fond of dogs (but I don't want any more, it's too much hassle getting them looked after if I want to go to a festival or whatever). But under NO circumstances should they be allowed on the furniture (apart from perhaps their designated chair although a dog-bed on the floor is better), or in the room where people are eating, or indeed to beg.
