We were on this stern trawler at Rye (Sussex, England) that we'd rented for a day's fishing. Half a dozen working class guys dressed all scruffy for the occasion to do some real fishing.

We'd just got on the boat and were waiting for the captain to get his act together and get moving. When at the nearby launching ramp there arrives a real fancy speedboat bright metallic red, fancy stripes and the biggest outboard you've ever seen.

Two skinny young men and two gorgeous girls in skimpy bikinis. Well these you folks were really Putting on the Style strutting about and making quite a show of getting their boat into the water. They were making quite sure that everyone was watching their VERY expensive boat.

They finally get in the boat, but instead of heading slowly down the channel obeying the speed limit; they make a high speed full circle around the channel throwing up a huge wake. By this time of course all eyes were upon them. They go haring downstream right over the loading ramp which they have just used. There is this loud CRUMP as their outboard hits the concrete loading ramp. Then complete silence as they drift slowly out of control downstream with everyone watching them.
