The local Registrar - a woman - at the registry office just around the corner from our house.
We wanted to get away with spending the least amount of money possible on a wedding.
So just the essential fees for the officials and certificate.

Full cost for the event, If I remember right, about a 150 quid.
.. and the cost of a skinfull of pints and a pub lunch..

We only needed to invite a couple of witnesses - both of our mums, but all the women in my family turned up for the afternoon.

Wedding night was the mrs sharing the bed upstairs with her mum

While my mum had the sofa in the front room; I slept on the floor by the fire place.

Since then, neither of us have a clue what happened to the wedding license....

I fully intend a similar cheapest option for funerals......

Cut all the profiteering parasites out of the equation...
