Both weddings were our special day, but the ceremony bit, as pivotal as it was, just became a part of the overall occasion. Only we knew about us, only we had embarked on our journey with only our expectations.

I see why the thread exists and I like the idea of people seeing the officiator's involvement as something to treasure. For us, the slightly autopilot words of a stranger who has to look at a sheet of paper when saying your names isn't something we made a note of.
