I've experienced 2 earthquakes. One in Kennebunkport, Maine in 1977 or '78 (I was on the 2nd floor of a very old house and thought the furnace was blowing up) and one while standing around at a friend's (well, Curmudgeon's ex-wife) house in Nottingham, NH. Both rated only miniscule newspaper mention. New England actually is in the same class zone as southern California; it's just not that active. I've felt other small trembles that haven't made a mention in the paper.
