I went to the Lyon's Den Folk Club In Stevenage in the early 60's. It was my first foray into the folk world and changed my outlook on music completely. I saw some wonderful singers and entertainers there and many years later drew upon what I remembered from their performances to hone my own performance skills.
Funnily enough, the Hitchin Folk club was only 5 miles away and is still going strong, though I only went there a couple of times and that was in the late 90's.

Hopefully, I'll get back there this year, or next and they'll let me have a floor spot.
