Back down to 11F, heading lower. Just looked out the window and see a marvellous sliver of a crescent in the dark sky. The light did not leave until after 5, a beautiful, very cold day. The car is registered. There was only a short wait! Then I stopped at the HS to visit my art teacher friend. Very good conversation about the student show and what would work better. Wrote an email about her and my ideas and sent it to her. Will put it on agenda for Monday's mtng. When I met her in '81, she was a young mom with marital problems. Now, second marriage, 5 grands, and our ability to communicate with each other/relationship has not changed.

Came home and made a salad but too cold to eat a salad so I let it sit until a bit ago so it was room temperature - 62F. Now I am warming the house a bit; need 65! Put a pillow on the floor with the heating pad on top for my feet. Warmed my water. No need to do anything more tonight but read and internet - deleted about 200 old emails as well as today's flotsam. If I stay warm enough for brain to function, I may be able to move some stuff around - move a bunch of email messages of info, re potting that I would like to keep, to files. Warm feet are essential!

No shopping: thinking about the no spending rule. In general, that has been lifelong though I do have 2 or 3 spurts in a year. This small house does help! I bought two beautiful sauce pans last week at the thrift; Now I have at least enough. Will need a bit larger fridge before warm weather. Currently keeping veggies in a cupboard that is quite cold enough.
