All true, but I wouldn't exactly say that the Iranians capitalised on it much. We've had far more capitalising with things like Greece ramping up a bit of plane-spotting by tourists into a major international incident. In this case, Iran treated a little thing as a little thing. In the current climate of wanting the nuclear deal to stick, neither side decided to ruffle feathers. Quite refreshing, actually. And I do wonder what would happen if Iran kept a few warships a few miles off New York...
