Unfortunately the cleaning methods discussed here are not capable of thoroughly cleaning disc recordings regardless of the material used in the pressing.

Aside from the possibility that the disc was "cleaned" with a solution that damaged the surface, the primary reason is simply that the most methods can not thoroughly remove the film of mold-release waxes present on the surface of the groove when the stamper is pulled away from the disc.
