Phil, do any of these songbooks attempt to identify songwriters or give background information for the songs?
Which of these are your favorites? Are there any that are field collections of traditional songs?
I've heard that one of the most significant Caribbean folk songbooks is identified by Bookfinder as The Island Song Book Treasure Island Bahamas 1927, by John and Evelyn McCutcheon. The only copy for sale through Bookfinder.com is $162.34. Too rich for my taste.
