Thread Name: Friends of Pitt Kinsolving
Subject: Friends of Pitt Kinsolving
Pitt Kinsolving, West Coast folkie with East Coast roots, is reaching out.

Pitt Kinsolving has been out in California since the 1980's, but we know that he had a past of folk music involvement in Connecticut and the Northeast before that. Out in Southern California, Pitt has been involved in several folk music series, Audio Engineering (with Wes Dooley) and the Caltech Folk Music Society. He engineered the sound for Bound for Glory concert series, and then he went on to be very involved in the Topanga Banjo & Fiddle Contest. Check out http://folkworks.org/features/feature-articles/2264-2015/45747-pitt-kinsolving-a-folk-hero-and-a-bluegrass-celebration to get an overview.   Pitt is now 83 and he has been fighting cancer for the last 4 years, He is currently in a convalescent home in Los Angeles dealing not only with cancer, but also recovering from an auto accident. He would dearly love to hear from some of his friends from the Northeast. Unfortunately, right now, he has trouble with using his hands, and he can't really use a computer for email. Talking on the phone is even a challenge in the facility. We're asking his friends back East to contact Pitt's friend, Rex Mayreis at Rmayreis@earthlink.net and he will print messages out for Pitt. Phone communication may be possible, so send a phone number so that Pitt may be able to call some of the folks he wants to reconnect to. PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD! If you know other friends of Pitt's, or if you can share this information with circles of people who might remember him, please help. He particularly hopes to reconnect with Lisa Null, Patrick Sky and Lorraine Hammond. See http://pasadenafolkmusicsociety.org/pitt to find out a bit more about what has been going on with Pitt these last few years.
