That does not explain the mass loss, but he offers this alternative,

coming out of the black hole but
traveling backward in time. When the

tational field so that it travels forward
in time.
Quantum mechanics has therefore allowed
a particle to escape from inside a
black hole. something that is not allowed
in classical mechanics."
