Sitting here watching surfers I have achieved a deeper understanding of the sport.

Surfing consists of paddling a board out to where you think the waves starts, being drenched by numerous waves until the one you want comes along, putting yourself in the position where the wave's energy will carry you and your board towards shore, being tossed by the wave (with your board) into the air and landing in the most painful way, and doing it all over again...when the air temperature is 65F.

Surfing thus combines all of the worst elements of water polo, being beaten with a 2 x 4 while trapped in a running cement mixer full of rocks, falling through the ice, and failure to learn from your experiences.

I shall pass on experiencing this sport.
