Not trad, but hoping some folks here might be helpful.

Looking for help for a friend who is trying to find a remembered cover of the Jones/Edwards song, Why Baby Why. Friend heard it often in the late 70s or very early 80's on the Bay area station KTIM. On the music group to which he posted we have pretty much run through all the well-known possible recordings but none are the recording he is looking for. Either too late or too early, or he says none of the recordings we can find for the time period are the recording he seeks. He is sure it was not the Flying Burrito Brothers recording.


He has eliminated FBB, Jones-Skaggs, Kershaw, Jennings-Nelson, Pride as possible covers. Tenor lead, country delivery with a 'hippy' feel, but none of the obvious recording match for the time. Perhaps by a regional band not otherwise known?
