How about looking for a Gibson era Epiphone, made in the Kalamazoo factory? Smaller than a dreadnaught for convenience while playing in the saddle, good tone and bass qualities, and not real costly on the used market. I have on old FT 45N Cortez and it really looks like the kind of thing played in the old western movies.
