It was an interesting movement. Can't say I was drawn into it, but there was a lot of music that sprang from it. There was a songbook called Songs, compiled by Yohann Anderson of Songs and Creations, Inc., of San Anselmo, California. I think it was first published in 1972, and I have a 1992 edition. According to this link (click) they're still in business. They made use of popular songs and some by religious songwriters, and did some really good stuff.
