Thread Name: Woody Guthrie lyrics and Budweiser cans
Subject: RE: Woody Guthrie lyrics and Budweiser cans
I had the opportunity a few years ago, so I had to try the true Budweiser. I thought it was a a Pilsner beer, but I may be wrong about that. It tasted kinda like Pilsner Urquell to me. It's good (and better than the American stuff), but it's not a favorite.

I suppose that nowadays, I drink mostly U.S. craft beers, and there are many I enjoy. But I grew up in Milwaukee, where it seemed to be a goal to find beer that was as cheap as possible. Most people I knew drank Hamm's, because it was cheaper than the Milwaukee beers. I worked at a summer camp during college, and the tavern next door charged fifteen cents for a 7-ounce glass of Hamm's draft.

I've heard people in Central Europe refer to the Czech Republic as simply "Czech." That works for me. Sure is a beautiful place.
