I stuck my Office 2002 CD-ROMS in my Windows 10 laptop and it worked. I have Word and I don't pay. I'd bought a new laptop with Windows 8 three years ago, took one look at all those incomprehensible tiles and put the bloody thing away until last month. My old, venerable Vista laptop churns valiantly on. Once I knew that Windows 10 was going to cost me money after July, I thought I'd better bite the bullet. The upgrade from 8, via 8.1 first, was painless. Everything works, it was easy to install free Avast, my Audio Cleaning Lab works, it's great. And, wonder of wonders, the battery on the Samsung laptop that had lain derelict for three years is as good as new. All I have to do now is teach meself how to use Windows 10. It looks friendly to me. What's not to like? 🙂
