Beaver:
Finally feeling better.

Picked up stuff from RONA Sat am - took two trips due to weight (only 5 minutes away) AND I had to, ever so carefully, offload each very heavy deck block and patio stone.

Off to Market and bought a rescued balsam for the NE corner after consult with Val; she rescues small trees which are in the way of mowing, carefully pots them and gives them time to recover before bringing them to market. All that for $11.50 for an 18 inch tree. Agreed: she is not making money; she is rescuing!

Talked with a "cottager": Mike is here 75% (like me, his partner is here rarely) and is developing a wood working shop. Will call him later today about getting some round "bats" made for studio; he can but will he have time? THEN I can make plates for my son.

Picked up sand for patio stone project at front door.

Rest of day - basket case: internet and reading until - just as the sun was about to go behind the hill in a clear sky, I heard thunder!!! Ran to close car window, took basket and scissors and trimmed oregano and into house before the deluge! Went out on deck and had a wonderful shower. What a treat! The house did not cool off but I sure felt better.   A great deal to be said for privacy!

However, when I went out this am to empty the K bucket: that deluge had washed considerable mud over about 15 feet of my nice crushed stone driveway. DARN! Maybe we can get more stone when R is here with truck. Need some sort of barrier along the road; it is complicated - to be where it will not impede parking, not be on the road allowance and still prevent run-off.

Going to be hot again today. So: east drapes closed already (8am) and going to studio to finish pots that have been waiting and waiting- before it is too hot to work.
