It is the null hypothesis that experimentation sets out to disprove, not prove or disprove observations or explanations of phenomena. If that's what you meant, fine. It wasn't clear from your wording I wrote a "well designed scientific experiment is designed to disprove things, most commonly the 'null hypothesis'. I did not mention observations or explanations of phenomena. You can hardly say I was unclear when you are coming to that opinion based on things I didn't mention. As it is, however, when I read what I wrote and what you said above, it hardly covers your statement "The null hypothesis, DMcG, has nothing to do with aiming to disprove.!
