The guest on the show says that generating babies from stem cells will eliminate many genetic defects, and will give parents a choice of various characteristics in their little bundle of joy. After the appropriate embryo is chosen, it is implanted in the woman's womb for gestation.
I dunno. I don't think it will replace the traditional method of babymaking.
