Carol, the big thing next to Orillia is Lake Simcoe. The big thing in Lake Simcoe this time of year is ice fishing for smelt. There's also a big gambling joint (Casino Rama) just on the south side of the lake.

A couple of years ago formerly unusual weather stranded hundreds of ice fishers out in the lake...so its starting to look like that's another form of gambling.

Spaw is just jealous because whatever Orillia may or may not have to offer, it's just a short drive from Toronto, and he longs after the big city experience but has never been to one.

Maybe you can talk Flattop into an excursion to Ottawa for Winterlude--do you skate? (A five mile section of The Rideau Canal is made into the world's longest skating rink every winter and there's this big party...it's more civilized than what goes on on Lake Simcoe.)

It's not too likely I'll have a chance to meet you, but it's grand that you're coming.
