Ernie was if not a national treasure, certainly a local one. A lovely man, full of humour and good naturedness. His singing and playing were extremely entertaining. His playing for the morris is certainly worthy of mention and I have fond memories of his participation in mummers plays at Christmas time. Ernie will be remembered.
