Living in Scotland, you just have to get used to the English not knowing where their country's borders are. They do learn, but getting polemical about it doesn't make the process any quicker.

It does make some difference to these questions. I use Kist o Riches/Tobar an Dualchais and the National Library of Scotland's online broadside archive fairly often; the Bodleian ballad archive less often, and the British Library Sound Archive not at all, unless somebody here links to an item in it.
