As you're in Iceland you probably won't appreciate my methods when I tell you this, but in August I was in a totally dark, remote part of Andalucía, on a hilltop, perfectly clear sky and twenty-five degrees, my sister and I lying back on deckchairs in t-shirts and shorts until three in the morning watching the Perseids, a couple of bottles of Rioja to hand. Now that's what I call doing astronomy. We saw lots of meteors and I was a bit surprised to see how multicoloured they were. We didn't get up very early the next day.
