Many years ago I saw a chap who had about 10 mouth organs fastened round a shaft so he merely rotated the staff to play the instrument in the selected key.

Again many years ago Ted Edwards fashioned a one string omelette pandolin. One omelette pan, one six inch ruler and some frets together with one string ............ and it worked.
