Cow farts are a source of methane emission, but cow burps are a much bigger problem. The amount of methane that's expelled from the rear of a cow pales in comparison with what it belches from the front. And the problem is exacerbated by pastures planted in fast-growing perennial rye grass which is difficult for cows to digest. Cattle who graze in natural pastures burp much less.
