Of far more concern are the methane hydrates trapped in the arctic
Not just the Arctic, one explanation for the Bermuda Triangle is that hydrates' covering is mud that shifts and release the methane which produces fizzy seas and boats have less buoyancy in a gas/water mixture. Plenty of eye witness to the condition. Hydrates are known in the area.
Then there is the thawing permafrost in (eg) Siberia. That is releasing methane too. The whole problemo is one of positive feedback. Global warming, methane release, more global warming.
Anyone who remembers learning to ride a bike can relate to positive feedback.
