I would agree on the single Federal system- as long as that did not mean the Fed Government could control the vote count. With the Electorial college now, the errors by Democratic ballot stuffers in Illinois does not change the national outcome, as the number of votes are not as important as the state count- ie, extra votes in Detroit do not offset Delaware's vote.
