At first qualifying specific friendships as true (opposed to false) seemed almost mean but the humor was great and sarcastic.

I thought of all the people who have saved my life be it; at their peril, out of duty, out of friendship, out of the blue, by intention or accident, and what I found was that at least half were strangers. I wouldn't discount virtual friends in our lives, even if it is an illusion we all believe in.

It is hard to think in terms of who saves our life but like the song says, "without love where would we be now".

It says something good about our society and the stranger.
