I got to play a banjo player in the film - part of a great band for a western singer, circa 1934. The band (called the Happy Fellas) recorded two songs for the film. I also recorded and licensed an instrumental piece for the film with Jay Ungar and Molly Mason - and my friends Gordon McLeod (production and strings) and David Lovrien (whistles). Paul Mills had a hand in the production of that piece too.

The film has some superb music from a long list of old time and modern performers including,
John McKuen (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band)
Michael Martin Murphey
Hot Rize (Tim O Brien)
Kansas
Sons of Pioneers
Skip Gorman
Connie Dover
Jay Ungar and Molly Mason and Me (woo hoo!)

Sorry I don't have the complete list - but you get the idea. I'll update this thread as the film gets out and begins to play in theaters - and as soon as they sort out TV play.

Lone Chimney Films is a non-profit organization, and they specialize in Kansas and Midwest history films. Their major releases typically play on specific PBS stations in the Midwest. They're great folks and they've had generous support from artists and actors for their projects - and they make great films!
