Certainly an excellent speech. To draw back from the detail to look at overall principles and goals occasionally is essential, and this is a great example. I hope the incoming government has a view that, like this speech, goes beyond simple profit and loss accounts into a vision of what a good life for the citizens looks like. I can't say I am too confident but would be pleased to be wrong.
