Thread Name: Review: Dave Burland
Subject: Review: Dave Burland
On my way to see my sister in the Yorkshire Dales, I stopped off in Keighley specifically to see Dave Burland at the Bacca Pipes folk club. I'd seen Dave back in the late sixties when I first got into folk music in Yorkshire and several times since. But it had been a long time since I last saw him. The club was packed full of eager fans anticipating a fine nights entertainment; and we were not disappointed. This was one of my best folk nights in a long while.
A quote from Nigel Schofield, "sublime Dave Burland performing a superbly eclectic set with consummate ease- he remains, as he always was, a master of his craft..........all with characteristic wit and just the right amount of audience abuse. If ever any(one) asks why you go to folk clubs, he is the irrefutable answer."

I'm marking February 5 in my diary when Dave will be performing nearer my home at Traditions at the Tiger in Long Eaton, Derbyshire.

Rating: Highly recommended!
