I read the book and found it incredibly moving - I was somewhat disappointed with the film, but I put that down to being unable to dislodge the pictures the book had lodged in my head.

I love Alaexi Sayle's description of the pleasure he took in walking up and down the length of the queues waiting to see 'The Mousetrap' and telling them, "it was the butler what did it".
