Last May, I was picking my elderly dachshund, Yoshi, out of her bed to take her outside, and she died right in my arms. It was a bit traumatic though not entirely unexpected. She'd been going downhill for some time, and I'd been debating taking her to the vet to ease her to the rainbow bridge. I am thankful she spared me that.
