threads which stay absolutely on topic are all very well in theory, but most people's minds don't seem to work that way...if something in a thread reminds them of another issue, very few will create a whole new thread to mention it...(and wouldn't it be tricky following the discussion if they did?)...sometimes a new thread is called for when one is totally changing the point, but I can usually follow things ok...

Maybe Max could create a frames version where parallel threads could be viewed side-by-side and HTML links to asides could be inserted like footnotes...NO!!! JUST KIDDING!!!!!
