I suppose the wedding which inspired this discussion thread went ahead in 2003. But I've just typed out the lyrics of An Bháinis a Bhí i gCána and I suppose that song about the wedding feast at Cana might be suitable to be sung at modern-day wedding. The lyrics are happy enough though the air I learned it to is a rather solemn sounding chant and I wouldn't describe it as a "lovesong".
