bogart sings it throughout the African Queen, not only at the end. I know Ed McCurdy's version.

However, the other version starts out like a ballad I know by Cynthia Gooding, which is always the first song I sing to a new public:

As I roved out one May morning down by the riverside
There I beheld my lovely fair, O then to be my bride
O then to be my bride, me boys, and in chambers to behold
May the heavens about protect my love for a jolly sailor bold...

Could they be related?
