This isn't about the effectiveness of protest songs, but who those songs are aimed at.
Why didn't you say so in the first place and stop wasting time?
I'd have thought that Trump was as good a runner up to Hitler as we are likely to get - controlling the media, denigrating the justice system and riding rough-shod over the constitution are enough examples of what happened in Nazi Germany to confirm that.   
Rather than debate his redoubtable qualities (!!), it would appear Phil would rather suppress any protest of America's greatest blunder to date.

So are those who make, sing and appreciate protest songs - he appears to be happy to usilise his right to free-speech, while attempting to suppress ours (under the guise of they might not be good enough)
The one thing that has struck me throughout all these arguments is the total ruthless dishonest of those 'few - happy few, band of brothers' who give this predator their support yet refuse to discuss his actions.
Now we have the soft-sell (or did until the mask slipped)
Let's move on eh - this level of discussion is really not worth getting involved in.
