Jim, multiculturalism was failing even while I was a member of the Communist Party, I attended demos all over Scotland in solidarity with immigrants. It was the time of Civil Rights in America, which I had come to understand and support mainly through blues and US Folk music. I detested Powell, but the man was eventually proved correct many years after his death; he saw into the future and recognised the policy of multiculturalism for what it was....a recipe for disaster.
