Thread Name: Lyr Req: Canadian ver. of This Land is Your Land
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Canadian ver. of This Land is Your Land
Here's a YouTube video of the "Canadian version" of "This Land Is Your Land":Apparently, the "Canadian version" uses Woody's verses with an altered chorus, posted above and in many other threads. Rick Fielding, Canada's greatest Woody Guthrie fan, hated this alteration of Woody's classic song. He's probably spinning in his grave at this very moment. But hey, he needs the exercise.... (sorry, Rick. Spaw made me do it. May both of you rest in peace and in our memories)

Dr. Word, I consolidated most or all of our posts on Oscar Brand's "Something to Sing About" into this thread (click). I even bought Oscar Brand's songbook and transcribed both the US and Canadian versions in that thread. No, the song isn't in the Digital Tradition (there haven't been songs added to the DT for a number of years). However, we've done our best to index the songs posted in the Forum. The easiest way to find songs in the Forum is to use the Filter on the main Forum page. Put a distinctive word from the song title into the box and set the age back to "all," and click "refresh."
I still have an unanswered question about the "US" version of "Something to Sing About" that appears in the Rise Up Singing Songbook. I asked editor Peter Blood about it, and he doesn't recall.
