Comprehension and proper preparation. I recently discovered through Google Translate that the Japanese syllabary for "Thank you for your hard work" can also be read as, "m****erf****er". That is why learning the kanji is so appropriate for any Japanese-language investigation. I have heard a Thai man singing Hank Williams songs and an Englishman singing Johnny Cash. I found both of them endearing in their own way. Many songs in my American heritage had their origins on other shores.
