Nicola Sturgeon visited The Burgh Hall today! She saw the Warhol exhibition, also met John McAslan, the staff and volunteers who are developing the activities and events; she was shown the amazing transformation of the 1874 building that had become a semi ruin.
Travel suggestions Jack - by car you might use the scenic route in one direction (Loch Lomond / Arrochar/Rest and Be Thankful /Glen Croe to A815 Dunoon turn-off / Loch Eck--- bring your camera as on a still day the reflections are stunning.) and the M8/A8/Western Ferries in the other direction BUT -- ask me about where to purchase car-driver tickets as they are twice the price on board!
For a memorable journey you might check the PS Waverley timetable and get yourself to Glasgow (perhaps the night before, find a folk session - if Waverley leaves early am?) then disembark at Dunoon (check it is a 'Dunoon' sailing!) - you can either return by Waverley or choose to catch Argyll Ferries to Gourock then train to Glasgow. Or McGills 907 bus from Dunoon to Glasgow Buchanan then bus or train to Edinburgh.
