Way off topic and I'm not going to pursue it, but electric cars are a lot more environmentally destructive than petrol ones. Most of the resource use by car takes place before its first owner ever gets into it, and the manufacture of batteries and other high-tech materials is far more damaging than making steel or refining fuel. (In particular, transnational mining companies are in the process of killing millions of people in central Africa to ensure their supplies of coltan - Amnesty has some horrifying reports on this).

There is no such thing as a sustainable car. They are all weapons of war against the future.
