I wrote Australian Wine in 1993 and recorded it on a cassette album of the same name in 1994. I plan to re record it next year. It is sung a lot around folk clubs but I'm not sure I get credited with writing it. In a way it's like it's in the tradition. The Chorus is:
And the grapes are heavy
On Australian vines
They make that smooth Australian Wine
It makes you feel happy, it makes you feel free
Ah but it don't bring
No peace to me.
