A nice collection of hard to come by field recordings plus four tracks from the Shelor/Blackard family. A total of 83 tracks of songs and fiddle and banjo tunes harvested by Mike plus very well researched notes which we always get from any project in which he is involved. Congratulations to Mike and to Rod Stradling at Musical Traditions for making this material available to us. Surely Musical Traditons in the UK and Stateside's Field Recorder's Collective are the two essential labels flying the flag for real unadulterated music. They deserve our thanks and support.
I must also mention that Rod has done an excellent job on cleaning up the sound.
