A name is something we either are given by others or choose for ourselves as needed, such as our Mudcat tags. It is possible to misspell a name and, inadvertently not apologize. Failure to apologize suggests a certain meanness of spirit, akin to the subject of this thread but not as egregiously harmful. Names are important to us.
