The solution has always been there - to with the hearts and minds of people rather than attempting to beat them into submission with military might.
Isis and the like is more of an idea than it is a physical presence - all the bombs and troops in th world will not destroy ideas - a difficult concept to graso by those incapable of thought.
Isis is no weaker as a philosophy, despite its military defeats - the only way to fight it is to win over those who see it as an answer to genuine grievances - hearts and minds
